How many driving lessons will it take to pass my test?

Average number of lessons to test standard = 28

Lets think about what level of driving you need to go in for the test. Once you pass you are allowed to drive unaccompanied on any UK roads. So on the lessons if you still need help from your instructor to deal with certain situations, or have only been on easy roads and junctions then you are not quite ready.

Every pupil that I take to test is ready to pass but most importantly they are safe to drive on their own. If you think you are ready then we can do a mock test to see how you would get on with a real test. Then when we are both happy you can go for it.

The DVSA recommends at least 40 hours of lessons with a driving instructor before going on to the test. I my experience this figure varies greatly depending on ability. I have had people only need 15 hours before they are test ready and people who need more than 60.

The roads around Morecambe and Heysham are just like any other road in the UK. However it is a big advantage to know the area so you can concentrate on the other traffic rather than wondering where you are. That’s why on most of the driving lessons you will be covering the Morecambe and Heysham areas. But we do go further afield to see what its like to drive on unfamiliar roads too.

Pass rate above is calculated excluding candidates just using my car for the test and not having any lessons with me.
